Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 August 2026

This policy explains what information MyKaamSathi collects, why, and what you can do about it. We have tried to write it plainly, and to collect as little as the service needs to work.

What we collect

To connect a worker with an employer nearby, we collect:

your mobile number, which is how you sign in and how we know it is you;

your name, and a profile photo if you add one;

the work you do or the work you offer, and the wage;

your location, so we can match you with people near you;

ratings and reviews you give and receive;

a notification token and app installation ID for your device, so we can alert you to a job or a message and keep the app up to date.

About your location

Distance is the heart of the service, so we use your location to show you the nearest workers or jobs and to let others find you within the distance you have chosen. You choose how far you are willing to travel.

When you upload a photo, we strip the hidden location data (GPS EXIF) out of it before it is stored, so a picture you share never quietly reveals where it was taken.

Device identifiers and the services we use

To deliver a notification, draw a map and keep the app up to date, the app has to be recognisable to the services that do those jobs. These identifiers describe this installation of the app on this phone — not you as a person — and they are never used for advertising.

We do not collect an advertising ID, we do not use any advertising or analytics SDK, and we do not share any of this for advertising.

a notification token and a Firebase installation ID, handled by Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and by Expo, so a job alert or a message reaches your phone and nobody else's;

an app installation ID sent to Expo when the app checks for a newer version on launch;

device identifiers used by Google Maps when a map is drawn, and by Google Play when an app update is offered.

What we show to others, and what we don't

Employers searching for workers see your name, photo, the work you do, your wage, your rating and roughly how far away you are. They do not see your phone number.

Your phone number is released to an employer only when you or they take a deliberate step to share contact — a request that we record. It is never shown in a search result or on a profile. This is a deliberate protection, not an accident.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.

How we keep it safe

Sign-in tokens are stored in a hashed form, not as plain text, so a copy of our database does not hand over anyone's session. We limit how our own systems reach your data, and we work to protect the service against abuse. No online service can promise perfect security, but we treat your data as data we would want protected ourselves.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your profile and personal details, keeping only what the law requires us to keep or what is needed to resolve a dispute.

Your choices

You can:

see and correct the information on your profile at any time in the app;

turn off notifications from your device settings;

ask us to delete your account and personal data.

For any of these, or any question about your data, write to our grievance officer at itsandeepverma@gmail.com.

Children

MyKaamSathi is for adults. You must be at least 18 to use it, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

Changes to this policy

As the service grows this policy may change. When we make an important change we will bring it to your attention in the app.
